Dog found ‘barely hanging on’ in dumpster now on the road to recovery

Dogs are often referred to as man’s best friend, but not all individuals share this same sentiment toward these wonderful creatures. Too often, we hear stories of dogs being found in dumpsters and garbage cans, discarded like trash. This hardship was shared by a French bulldog recently, after being discovered barely hanging on to life following abandonment in a dumpster. Fortunately for him, he is now in good hands and expected to survive.
The dog was found in a dumpster near a Mexican restaurant in Allen Park, Michigan. As per the local news outlet, News-Herald, employees taking out the garbage heard the sound of cries emanating from the bin and made the discovery.

The struggling French bulldog pup was malnourished and had bruises on multiple body parts, including his ribs and legs. He was taken to Southgate Animal Hospital, where he received much-needed stabilization. The animal hospital used a hyperbaric chamber to help the dog with his breathing.
Officers are presently investigating the case at hand to establish why the dog was discarded in the dumpster. The rescue organization, Pound Pals Downriver, has appealed for information on the dog’s previous whereabouts and submitted the details to the authorities.

Those who examined the dog believe that he was probably neglected and dumped due to the dog’s medical needs being unmet, which may have been challenging for the dog’s caretakers. The investigation is ongoing.
The puppy, dubbed Queso, kept fighting for his life, and never lost his spirit, despite all odds against him. Tom Abraham, the director of Pound Pals Downriver, considers him a kind and loving young dog.

The animal rescue team was able to diagnose Queso’s medical condition after tests, which demonstrated that the dog had megaesophagus. This disorder requires specialized feeding care to prevent vomiting and/or food entering the windpipe, which probably led to Queso being malnourished and eventually contracting pneumonia.
However, thanks to the experts at Pound Pals Downriver, Queso is expected to survive. While he still needs to recover and recuperate fully, his prognosis is optimistic.

Queso’s development has recently been improving, and he has been able to eat and gain weight after spending time in the hyperbaric chamber. Although he is attracting interest from multiple people looking to adopt him, he is still too fragile to be adopted out just yet. The suitable family for Queso will need experience in handling dogs with special needs, ideally with French bulldog experience and the capacity to handle potential complications.

Some may say that Queso has not yet been found a suitable home, but his current progress is proof of how far he has come from being found nearly lifeless in a dumpster. It is shocking and heartbreaking that anyone would willfully abandon a defenseless animal like this. However, the attention and care Queso is receiving now will help him make a full recovery and look forward to a happy, healthy life.
Please share Queso’s story widely, and let’s give him the best chance of finding the ideal home with a loving and caring family. Onward, Queso!
