Years ago, I visited a shelter in search of a cat to adopt. The conditions were heartbreaking—cats crammed into tiny cages in a dull, overcrowded room. I wasn’t allowed to open any cages, only observe.
As I looked around, a young cat, about six months old, caught my attention. The moment I spoke to her, she pressed against the bars, reaching out to touch my fingers. She rubbed against them so gently that I knew instantly—she was the one.
I adopted her that day, and we shared a deep bond for the rest of her life. She was incredibly affectionate, and we adored each other every single day.
