The Journey of Homer the Cat: How He Discovered His Home and Us
About seven months ago, I took in a stray cat from the ravine behind my home. He was cold, hungry, and covered in fleas, mange, and worms. When I brought him to the vet to check for a microchip, we found he didn’t belong to anyone. The vet guessed he was six years old.
From day one, Homer amazed me with his sweet, affectionate, and protective personality — the best cat I’ve ever known. I immediately provided full medical care: blood tests, stool exams, vaccinations (including feline leukemia), neutering, nail care, and microchipping. Regular vet visits keep him safe and healthy.
Today, Homer enjoys a calm, comfortable life inside, often sleeping on my bed or my daughter’s. Though he fears doors closing, he’s embraced indoor toys and understands words like “treats” and “nom-nom.” He even “talks” with us occasionally!
I genuinely believe Homer saved our family as much as we saved him. I cherish my sweet, loving boy every day.
