She was 18 years old. Her humans loved her entire life—until they took her, along with her vaccination record, a leash, a collar, and her few belongings, and brought her to the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter. They signed a few papers, said they were tired of struggling with an old dog, and left. Without looking back.

When a shelter volunteer picked her up, she leaned against him—perhaps hoping it was all just a bad dream.

Unfortunately, dogs love truly, with all their heart and soul. They are incapable of understanding that human 'forever' often has an expiration date—whether it's due to the new year, a move, illness, or simply old age...
