I went to my garage one night and heard a kitten meowing. As I found it crawling across the floor, Momma scared the heck out of me and I opened the door to let her out. I left my garage door open for her for two days, hoping she would move the kittens. I searched high and low, found no kittens and Momma was gone as well, so I closed the doors.
Two days later, I came home and heard a kitten SCREAMING! Realizing I had cut a baby off from his food for 2 days, I burst into tears, grabbed a flash light and looked until I found him inside a box under a table (it was not the original kitten, but a much smaller one).
I called a friend and she drove me to the pet store, where two really awesome cat lovers who worked there found everything I needed and taught me how to take care of him-he was 2 weeks old and weighed 8 ounces! My son and I bottle fed him, learned how to act like a momma cat and watched with pride as he litter box trained himself and learned to eat the fancy organic cat food I insisted he needed :) Louie Sox is now 8 months old, almost 9 pounds and in charge of everything in my house! He is our first cat and we LOVE him
